Defender renewal results in account being marked Unpaid

My Defender account expired in mid July, and I've been waiting for the renewal feature to be put back. I noticed that the Pay Now link was finally available and paid. But now when I try to log in, it says that my account is New and Unpaid (and wants $30 in addition to the $25 I just paid).
My Defender account is "jfw25", and the email address for the Paypal payment is jfw at funhouse.com.

The people responsible for this bug have been sacked. And possibly bitten by a moose.
