web store issue

this morning (Oct 10, 2009) I attempted to add a T-shirt to my wish list (since, apparently, all the Zombie Head on a Stick shirts have been sucked up by people with more ready cash than myself).
When the "add to wish list" link is clicked, an "out of stock" dialog pops up.
This is probably not technically a bug, since it does seem to work for items still held in stock. However, it seems to me that somebody is missing an opportunity here. If you were to keep track of the number of requests for out of stock items, you'd likely have some idea of its overall popularity - even after the first run - and could possibly re-order for those of us who are sometimes slow on the uptake.

I'm sending this over to tom/kim and Pete.
We didn't consider that people might dump in store issues (although we should have) and I may setup a separate store issues ticket system.
Thank you however for reporting the issue; I'll see what can be done (it's a third party store software so we may need to go through them for a fix).

Thanks Lurch! You're right, being able to put out of stock items into a wishlist does make perfect sense. Unfortunately it seems to be out of my control with the current software. :(
