Log-in to site (not defenders) doesn't stick

When I log on to the site to comment, I always check "Log me on automatically each visit". This might work one or two more times, but then I have to log on again.

In contrast, I have only had to relog on as a defender once since the new site went up.

Related issue: On the old site, if we were NOT logged in, you could still hit the "quote" button on the comment that you want to reply to. The site would then re-direct to the log-in and then once logged-in would re-direct back to the "Post a reply" page with the quoted comment. We can no longer do that, and it now takes added steps to get back to the comment that we want to reply to.

If the second issue is returned to the old way, then the first issue is not a big deal. Likewise, if automatic log-in actually worked for more than one or two times, then the second issue is not a big deal. Well, neither issue is a BIG deal, but it would be nice to have one or both of these working.
